| May, 2002 | Venture Shooting Sports Day II at Oak
Harbor Conservation Club.
Excellent activity but the other Venturer's dropped the ball. Me, my wife and my son were the only participants to show up. We did the entire program that day. We fired an Colt M16 in full auto after being given an excellent presentation by the Ottawa County Special Response Team, loaded and fired black powder rifles, fired .45, 38 Special, 9mm automatics and revolvers. We then headed out to Camp Perry for some trap shooting. The people who loaned their firearms for the event need to know that this was a great event. The youth who decided not to show up may have ruined this particular part of the program. Ammunition costs money and when you purchase ammunition for 20 people and only 3 show up, the expenses outweigh the benefits. |
